Rollerskates
The first patented Rollerskates was back in 1760 by Belgian inventor John Joesph Merlin. Back then they were very hard to control and had almost no breaking system. In the beginning, rollerskating was just used for entertainment, but around the 1930s-1940s people started to use them for sports like speed skating and artistic roller skating. The first Rollerskates were Quads, which means there are 2 wheels on the back and the front of the boot of the skates. Nowadays, the popularity of Rollerskates blossomed in the 80s and 90s with the increased of roller rinks, and recently people would look at Rollerskates and gets nostalgic for the 80s and 90s. There are 2 main different roller skates, and with those different skates there are different wheels and styles.
