There are three really good mountains to go snowboarding on as a beginner in NC. The first is Sugar
Mountain, nearby in Banner Elk. It has 21 slopes-including the area's only double-black diamond run. It has
a lot of variety making it ideal for the whole family. There are plenty of beginner and intermidate slopes
and terrains. They also have teaching programs to help along the way.
The second mountain range that is good for beginners is App Ski Mountain. It is located between Blowing Rock
and Boone, the resort opened in 1962. There are twelve slopes offered which gives everyone something no
matter skill level you are. The resort is also home to the French-Swiss Ski College, the Southeast's largest
independent ski school, where private and group lessons are offered daily.
The last mountain we would recommend is Beech Mountain, it sits at an impressive 5,506 feet above sea level.
it makes it the highest resort in Eastern America, and with this it has beautiful views. Beech Mountain has
recently upgraded their terrian park for freestyle skiers and snowboarders. This gives features for both
beginners and expert freestyle riders
