The World Wide Web of the early 2000s was the wild west of the internet, allowing hackers to wreak havoc. This allowed for data theft, computer takeovers, and more. Today, internet security is much stronger—especially when users take precautions.

Some viruses disguised themselves as harmless software to spy on users, while others were simply jokes. Regardless, they remain important lessons in internet safety.
