When it comes to handling a Leopard Gecko, like most reptiles they must be trained to get used to being handled. This means getting your gecko out should be a regular occurrence, especially if you want them to be well socialized (you do). Handling your Leopard Gecko is quite simple. Just make sure their stomach and legs are supported. They like to explore sometimes, so they may climb up your arm or onto your back. When they are crawling around, it may be wise to sit on the floor. Some Leopard Geckos like to jump, or may lose their grip and fall. Leopard Geckos cannot fly, so it is important to be attentive when handling them. Leopard Geckos are supposed to stay warm as well. After you have been handling your gecko for a while, touch its back and see how cold it is. If you have had your gecko out for a while and it feels cold, put it back in the tank and let it bask in its heat lamps. You do not want your gecko to get too cold, but if you want to keep handling your gecko sometimes you can get small heating pads or blankets that you lay your gecko on while handling.
