Leopard Geckos need to have a variety in their diet, it is the healthiest way for them to live. They can eat all sorts of different kinds of insects. They can eat mealworms, waxworms, hornworms, dubai roaches, crickets, superworms, silkworms and locusts. All of these different types of insects add different nutrients to their diet that they need. Some of the fattier options, waxworms and superworms, should be given to geckos less regularly, as they can lead to obesity. Because Leopard Geckos are not in the wild, they also require some supplements to remain healthy as pets. They need a Vitamin D3 supplement as well as a calcium supplement at least twice a week. You can do this just by dusting a supplement powder on the insect before giving it to your gecko. Leopard Geckos have another fun trait about them, they do not have to eat every day, unless they are babies (under 6 months old), then they must be fed daily. They typically eat every other day instead. Most Leopard Geckos will only eat live insects, as it gets their attention and is better for them overall.
