A Leopard Geckos enclosure is super important to their well-being. They have quite a few requirements that can end up being pretty pricey at the start of getting your first reptile. Leopard Geckos have very important heat and humidity requirements. A Leopard Gecko needs a hydrometer and thermometer in their tank to track these conditions. They need variety in their tank, so one side of the tank needs to be between 80-90 degrees Fahrenheit and the other needs to be between 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit. As for the humidity, the tank needs to be around 30-40%. Leopard Geckos need this heat and humidity all the time, so I recommend getting a nighttime light with the same wattage. Depending on the heat of your room, you could need anywhere from a 75-100 watt heat light to achieve these temperatures. Leopard Geckos also require a minimum of 30 gallons for their tank. This gives them plenty of space to roam, as well as space for the heat variety in the tank. They need a hot hide, preferably a rock they can get under, for when they want to be very hot. They also need a humid hide, that is in the cooler damp area, to help them with shedding, preferably something that is rough like wood they can rub against. The substrate should be coconut fiber and of course, some fake greenery for hiding spots is always appreciated.
