HAEMONCULI COVENS

Haemonculus Covens are one of the 3 self-governing organizations within the Drukhari, composed of Haemonculi as the governing body. Haemonculi are Drukhari surgeon-alchemists who are adept biological manipulation and general torture. These covens are located in the “Underworld” of Commorragh, where the Haemonculi do what they please with victims of all species. One of the most important roles that the Haemonculi Covens have, however, is artificially growing more Drukhari. Using disgusting technologies, they implant eggs into tubes which lead to the accelerated growth of new Drukhari known as “Half-Borns.” In addition to this disturbing practice, the Covens also specialize in finding ways to regrow corpses from their dead.

The organization of a Haemonculus Coven includes the Haemonculi themselves, a Master Haemonculus, Wracks, who are individuals dissected and refashioned into assistants, bodyguards, and instruments of torture when need be (some of which volunteer to do so), and Grotesques, hulking monsters composed of flesh, muscle, and bone for the sole purpose of entering combat and ripping enemies asunder. Individual Haemonculi with their Wracks and other creations are known as a Cell, with several cells composing an entire Coven.
