WRAITH CONSTRUCTS

Wraith Constructs, or Ghost Warriors, are constructs created by the Asuryani, empowered by soulstones placed within them. These constructs are composed of Wraithbone, a psycho-plastic substance that is manipulated by a Bonesinger into any shape required. In Asuryani society, Wraith Constructs are considered to be taboo, as it is similar to a form of necromancy in that a seer awakens and guides the resting soul of an Asuryani to control these great machines. They are often only used as a last line of defense due to their distasteful nature. However, they are not emotionless automata -- often, they are found trying to do seemingly meaningless tasks they once did in life, such as eating or motionlessly “performing” on stages.

Several patterns of Wraith Construct exist, with the main types of Wraithguard, Wraithblades, Wraithlords, Wraithseers, and Wraithknights. Wraithknights are a specifically interesting case in that they are both a vehicle and an automaton at the same time. The pilots for these machines are rare, in that they must have been born a twin to a now dead Asuryani. Together, the living pilot and the essence of the undead within a Wraithknight prove to elegantly control the colossal machine in a way that resembles life, their movements just as quick and precise as how they once were in the dead twin's life.
